The proceedings included in this booklet are transcripts of speeches made in the workshop held jointly by the TOBB University of Economics and Technology and the Embassy of Japan in Ankara. The problems concerning the migrants and refugees is a current issue that has been changing a lot in the current international order with new actors, regions and points of contention emerging. The workshop discusses the events and issues that are happening around the world about refugees and forced migration in particular. The workshop’s especially focuses on The Global Compact on Refugees that aims to reach to a more equitable sharing of burden and responsibility for hosting and supporting the world refugees. The workshop discusses different parts of this and presents factual information on the scale of refugee problem in the world, but more specifically on the Syrian refugee problem and its impact on Turkey. It also discusses various policies, identifies problem points, and offers solutions as well as various programs that are already being implemented.
